The Masks of God
By Patrick Louch, July 23, 2007
Throughout the time of Humankind, peoples of every race,
Believed in gods of every kind, Each with a different face.
At the core of each belief is myth, and they point to salvation.
But if you look a little closer, you’ll see the diversity of creation,
So, it is easy to comprehend why God has many faces.
Just look around at all the people who make up our global races.
Each face a mask. Each Mask a Voice.
And the song they sing is One.
It started in the beginning and continues to this day,
This song is meant for everyone, to no matter whom you pray.
Yahweh, Krishna, Buddha too,
Their voices sing the same old tune.
Be mindful of your actions,
Have courage as you walk.
Be mindful of the Golden Rule, before you talk your talk.
For what you do, comes back to you
We are of the same Image.
Each one of us, Each God above, and below we are all in it.
Each Plant, Each Stone, our Rock n’Roll, we are the Light that’s Living.
Brahman, Vishnu, Jesus Christ, and Islams’ Allah too,
Have shared the secrets, to live a life,
They’ve told us what to do.
Move forward without Expectation, and do not fear Your Life.
Seek Knowledge, Wisdom, Compassion, Truth, move forward with this in mind.
Do whatever, is to be done, hold out a balanced hand.
We are all one with Spirit, and Spirit is one with Man.
For Yin & Yang, & White & Black, and everything in between,
Is all a part of what we See, as well as that Un-seen.
For all we are, All that is,
Is a dream within a dream.
And the dreamer, God, like you and me, wears many masks
Throughout our days in space and time, answering, the questions that we ask.
Move forward without Expectation, and do not fear the Light.
Seek Knowledge, Wisdom, Compassion, Truth, move forward with this Sight.
Do whatever, is to be done, hold out a balanced hand.
We are all one with Spirit, and Spirit is one with Man.
Patrick I want to use your poem for a book I am writing. Is that acceptable? Of course the name is yours
This entry by Mr. Patrick Louch is lovely. I am so glad you passed it on Raheel. So beautiful for this time of year when many religions/cultures celebrate their special joyous holidays.
Welcome to Raheel Raza’s Official Website
I am honored by you for posting this. Thank you. In our diversity there exists Balance, Order, and Harmony. Of these the Harmony of our voice and instruments played, has the power to invoke, restore and maintain Order and Balance. When combined with a pleasurable idea, music unleashes the magic of dance and inspires the arts and dissolves the barriers of our egos…. and we can for a time mate with our souls.
I have been blessed to have been ‘led to you’, and to know that ‘SAMA’ exists to celebrate our human diverse richness and oneness, through music and the arts. You are making the world a better place…Thank you!
